We'll spend five days in the best photo hides, searching for imperial eagles and Iberian lynxes, among other things, in a striking and predominantly mountainous landscape. We'll travel through northwest Spain in search of these fantastic specimens, and we'll also have the opportunity to capture other birds of prey present in the area, including black kites, northern goshawks, griffon vultures, common vultures, buzzards, and the occasional fox.

WHO IS THIS EVENT FOR?

This workshop is aimed at all photography and nature enthusiasts. It's designed for both those who are just starting out in this wonderful world and want some helpful field and post-production tips to improve their knowledge, as well as more advanced photographers who want to spend days in places rich in photographic possibilities, bringing home some excellent shots. No specific skills are required, as all photography sessions will be held in a cabin.

EVENT DESCRIPTION

This photography workshop takes place in the stunning setting of Spain, where we will spend five days in a cabin in close contact with nature. We will admire and photograph the Iberian lynx and the majestic imperial eagle, one of the world's most elusive animals, which inhabit the mountain ranges and arid plains. We will be fascinated by the extraordinary beauty of the landscape, offering evocative locations where we can spot the local fauna and birdlife. I will share my photographic expertise to offer an intense, useful experience, with the utmost respect for nature. We will leverage our knowledge of the area to provide the highest level of photographic quality, carefully studying every lighting situation and shooting angle.

Our photographic journey will focus on the south of Madrid, where, with the help of a local guide, we will spend 5 days in a hide, from morning until sunset. We will have the opportunity to focus on the specimens present in the area, but not only that, we will also have the opportunity to photograph other birds of prey present in the area.

It will be incredible to get up close to them in their natural habitat, admire these fantastic creatures and other animals that populate the area, and have the opportunity to take environmental shots, immortalizing them as they play under the scorching sun, or fantastic portraits, as they drink from the pool of water in front of us.

During my workshops, we will cover the basics of wildlife photography, discussing the area and how to make the most of every hour of light. You will be guided from camera settings to the shooting stage. We will then compare our shots and discuss post-production, where I will reveal some secrets for optimizing our photographs, with a particular focus on file customization, detail optimization, light and contrast management, and color correction.

The purpose of these events is to train you through my experience, leaving you with enough knowledge to cultivate this passion anywhere and with excellent photographic results. The workshop will begin with an initial theoretical explanation, to prepare and introduce participants to the approach to nature photography, explaining compositional rules, photographic techniques, tips and everything needed to create quality photographs.

With the support of a professional photographer, you will have the opportunity to refine your photography skills, discovering the best techniques to capture impactful images. Every click of the camera will be a dive into the wild world, an indelible memory of an intensely lived experience. During the workshop, you will not only learn to take extraordinary photos, but also to observe and understand animal behavior, thus enriching your connection with nature.

Get ready to live a unique experience in the heart of Spain! This photography workshop is designed for those who want to capture the magic of wildlife, in one of the most evocative natural environments in Europe. By participating in this nature photography workshop, you will discover with me how to behave in the field to obtain impactful and natural photographs.

The photo sessions will take place in the cabin, from early morning until late morning and from late afternoon until sunset, immersing us in a unique experience, in close contact with nature. Given the scorching heat, we'll head to a local restaurant for lunch and then have the opportunity to rest in our rooms, before continuing the photo session from late afternoon until evening.

RECOMMENDED PHOTO EQUIPMENT

For this type of workshop, we recommend focal lengths from 200mm effective to a maximum of 600mm. Other shorter focal lengths could also be interesting, so as to obtain different photographic ideas. For this event you can rent products such as cameras and lenses.

The products are rented without any deposit, and without any credit card or particular constraint. Each product is delivered on the spot and no insurance is required..

PROGRAM DETAILS

Day 1

Departure from Italy and meeting at Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport by 4:00 PM, followed by a 1.5-hour transfer to the designated accommodation. After lunch and luggage storage, there will be a short theoretical lesson on the photography tour we'll be undertaking over the following days.

Days 2-3-4-5-6

• 6:30 AM: Breakfast at the hotel.
• 7:15 AM: Transfer to the lodges and begin the photography session to search for the felines present in the area.
• 12:30 AM: Lunch at a local restaurant, followed by return to the lodge where we'll have time to rest.
• 4:00 PM, departure for the lodges and continuation of photography activities until sunset.
• Dinner at the lodge featuring typical local products.

Days 7

• 9:00 AM: Breakfast followed by an editing lesson at the facility, followed by departure for Madrid Airport. It's recommended to book return tickets after 4:00 PM.
