A 4 day workshop, from 10 to 13 September, in the heart of the Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise National Park, to discover the wildest and most uncontaminated nature of the central Apennines. In this period, ideal for the roaring of the deer, you will also have the opportunity to spot other magnificent animals of the park, such as the wolf and foxes. A photographic workshop concentrated in the places where there is the greatest possibility of spotting deer in their best season, the mating season. Specifically, you will be guided by professional photographer Alessandro Di Modica, and I will share with you my experience and expertise in the world of Wildlife.

WHO IS THIS EVENT ADDRESSED TO?

This workshop is aimed at all photography and nature enthusiasts. It's designed for both beginners in this wonderful world who want to learn some helpful field and post-production tips to improve their knowledge, and for more advanced photographers who want to spend two days in places rich in photographic possibilities and bring home some stunning shots. No specific skills are required, and this workshop does not include high-altitude excursions.

DESCRIPTION OF THE EVENT

I will share my photographic expertise to offer an intense, useful experience, with the utmost respect for nature. We will leverage my local knowledge to deliver the highest level of photographic quality, studying every lighting situation and shooting angle. My workshops will cover the basics of wildlife photography, discussing the local area and how to make the most of every hour of light. You will be guided from camera settings to the actual shooting phase. We will then compare our shots and discuss post-production, where I will reveal some secrets for optimizing our photographs, with a particular focus on file customization, detail optimization, light and contrast management, and color correction. The goal of these events is to train you through my experience, leaving you with the knowledge to pursue this passion anywhere and with excellent photographic results. The workshop will begin with an initial theoretical explanation at the Abruzzo National Park headquarters. This will prepare and introduce participants to nature photography, explaining the rules of conduct within the park. This will be followed by a lesson on compositional rules, photographic techniques, tips, and everything else needed to create quality photographs.

With the support of a professional photographer, you will have the opportunity to hone your photography skills, discovering the best techniques for immortalizing the majesty of deer in their natural habitat. Every click of the camera will be a dive into the wild world, an indelible memory of an intensely lived experience. During the workshop, you will not only learn to take extraordinary photos, but also to observe and understand animal behaviors, thus enriching your connection with nature.

We'll focus our sessions on targeted hides, at dawn and dusk, to spot the Apennine wolf, one of the area's most important predators, and foxes, and with a bit of luck, photograph them. By participating in this nature photography workshop, you'll learn with me how to behave in the field to achieve impactful, natural-looking photographs.

These will be days dedicated to the sighting of red deer, where in this period, they echo through the valleys of the park, creating a surreal atmosphere with their violent bells. During the central hours of the day we will dedicate ourselves to post-production, thus improving our skills with specific software.

The photographic sessions will be carried out early in the morning and at sunset, alternating stakeouts on site and explorations along the most important places in the Park, so as to immerse ourselves in a unique experience, in close contact with nature. The sessions will keep us busy in the field from dawn to dusk, with moments of practical sessions on the various basic and advanced video shooting techniques to obtain creative and unique images of the roar.

RECOMMENDED PHOTOGRAPHIC EQUIPMENT

For this type of workshop, we recommend focal lengths from 200mm effective to a maximum of 800mm. Other shorter focal lengths could also be interesting, so as to obtain different photographic ideas. For this event you can rent products such as cameras and lenses.
